J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
Removal Procedure
1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut (2) from the condenser (4).
3. Disconnect the A/C compressor hose fitting (3) from the condenser.
4. Remove and discard the 0-ring (5).
5. Remove the A/C line from the retaining brackets (1).
6. Remove TXV tube plate bolt (5).
7. Remove the A/C compressor tube (4) and receiver dehydrator tube (6) from the TXV (10).
8. Remove and discard the O-rings (8).
9. Remove the A/C compressor hose retaining nut (1) from the A/C compressor (5).
10. Remove the A/C compressor hoses (2, 6) from the A/C compressor.
G11. Remove and discard the 0-rings (4).
Installation Procedure
1. Install new 0-rings (4) onto the A/C compressor hose block fitting (3).
2. Install the A/C compressor hose block fitting to the A/C compressor (5).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the A/C compressor hose fitting nut (1) to the A/C compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 30 Nm (22 Ib ft).
4. Install new 0-rings (8) to the TXV (10).
5. Install the A/C compressor tube (4) and receiver dehydrator tube (6) to the TXV.
6. Install the TXV tube plate (7) and bolt (5).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10.5 N.m (93 Ib in).
7. Install a new 0-ring (5) to the condenser (4).
8. Install the A/C compressor hose fitting block (3) to the condenser.
9. Install the A/C compressor hose retaining nut (2) to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 10.5 N.m (93 Ib in).
10. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system.
11. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A.
