Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement
Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any power steering fluid.
Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Loosen the 2 hose clamps (1, 2) that retain the 2 power steering fluid cooler hoses (11) to the 2 power steering gear outlet pipes.
3. Remove the 2 cooler hoses from the outlet pipes.
4. Loosen the 2 hose clamps (10) that retain the 2 cooler hoses to the 2 cooler pipes.
5. Remove the 2 cooler hoses from the 2 cooler pipes.
6. Remove the bolt (9) that retains the cooler to the body.
7. Remove the 2 bolts (6) that retain the 2 cooler clips (7) to the cooler brackets (3).
8. Remove the cooler (8) from the brackets.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends, Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the power steering fluid cooler (8) to the cooler brackets (3).
2. Ensure the cooler clips (7) are in the correct locations.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the 2 bolts (6) to the cooler clips in order to retain the cooler to the cooler brackets
^ Tighten the colts to 6.5 Nm (57.5 ft. lbs.)
4. Install the bolt (9) in order to retain the cooler to the body.
^ Tighten the bolt to 6.5 Nm (57.5 ft. lbs.)
5. Install the 2 cooler hoses (11) to the cooler pipes. Install the 2 hose clamps (10)
6. Install the 2 power steering gear outlet pipes to the 2 cooler hoses. Install the 2 hose clamps (1, 2).
Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in Service Precautions.
7. Fill the power steering fled reservoir Refer to Checking and Adding Pokier Steering Fluid.

8. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System.
