Knee Bolster Replacement - Left

Removal Procedure





1. Grab the upper edge of the knee bolster panel (2) and pull outwards to disengage the three retaining clips (3).
2. Swing the knee bolster panel (2) open.

Important: When disengaging the knee bolster panel from the hinge clip, do not pull the left-hand side of the panel too far away from the instrument panel before disengaging the panel from the hinge pin on the right-hand side of the panel retainer.


3. While holding each side of knee bolster panel (2), pull the left-hand side rearwards just enough to disengage it from the instrument panel knee bolster clip (1).
4. Move the knee bolster panel (2) to the outboard side of the vehicle to disengage the retainer's pin from the panel and remove the panel from the vehicle.
5. Remove the knee bolster reinforcement, if necessary. Refer to Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement (Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement) .



Installation Procedure

1. Install the knee bolster reinforcement, if removed. Refer to Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement (Knee Bolster Reinforcement Replacement) .




2. Position the right-hand side of knee bolster panel (2) to the lower instrument panel, making sure the knee bolster trim panel (2) is engaged to the retaining pin.
3. Install the left-hand side of the knee bolster panel (2) to the lower instrument panel, making sure the knee bolster clip (1) is fully engaged.
4. Swing the knee bolster panel (2) upwards, making sure the three retaining clips (3) are fully engaged.
