Shift Control Shift Closeout Boot ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the control lever assembly.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
3. Remove the shift control closeout boot retaining nuts (3)
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Remove the shift control closeout boot (1 ) and retaining plate assembly from the vehicle
6. Inspect the boot for damage, replace boot as necessary.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the shift control closeout boot (1 ) and retaining plate assembly in the vehicle.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the 4 shift control closeout boot retaining nuts.
^ Tighten the shift control closeout boot retaining nuts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Push the shift control closeout boot (1) down until it seats on the control lever (2).
6. Install the control lever assembly.
