Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement (Pontiac)

Removal Procedure




1. Apply the park brake.
2. Position the shift lever to LOW.
3. Using a small flat-bladed tool, remove the ignition switch bezel.




4. Disengage the accessory trim plate from the I/P.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
6. Remove the cigar lighter housing from the accessory trim plate.
7. Remove the mounting plate bracket bolts and the bracket from the I/P accessory switch
8. Remove the accessory trim plate.

Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the mounting plate bracket and bolts to the I/P accessory switch.

Tighten the bolts to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

2. Install the cigar lighter housing to the I/P accessory trim plate.
3. Connect the electrical connectors.
4. Install the I/P accessory trim plate by pressing the plate into place until fully seated.




5. Install the ignition switch bezel. Press the bezel into place until fully seated.
6. Position the shift lever to PARK.
7. Release the park brake.
