Coaxial Cable Replacement - Cellular Telephone

COAXIAL CABLE REPLACEMENT - CELLULAR TELEPHONE

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the garnish molding from the right windshield pillar.
2. Lower the front of the headliner. Refer to Headliner Replacement in Interior Trim.
3. Disconnect the antenna base lead.
4. Remove the body mobile telephone antenna cable from the inner roof panel and the windshield pillar.




5. Remove the right instrument panel (I/P) insulator.
6. Remove the right front carpet retainer.
7. Pull back the carpet for access.
8. Disconnect the body antenna cable from the I/P mobile telephone antenna cable.
9. Remove the body antenna cable.




10. Disconnect the I/P antenna cable from the communication interface module by pulling down on the square plastic housing.
11. Cut off the visible ends of the I/P antenna cable.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the I/P antenna cable to the communication interface module by pushing on the square plastic housing.
2. Route the I/P antenna cable along the I/P harness.
3. Secure the I/P antenna cable to the I/P harness.




4. Route the body antenna cable behind the I/P bracket.
5. Connect the body antenna cable to the I/P antenna cable.
6. Install the carpet.
7. Install the right front carpet retainer.
8. Install the right I/P insulator.




9. Install the body antenna cable to the inner roof panel and the windshield pillar.
10. Connect the antenna base lead.
11. Install the headliner.
12. Install the garnish molding to the right windshield pillar.
