Fender Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure


Notice: Refer to Tape Corners of Panel Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Apply tape to panel and adjacent surfaces.
2. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper (Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper) in Bumpers.
6. Remove the front bumper fascia upper support. Refer to Fascia Support Replacement - Front Bumper Upper (Fascia Support Replacement - Front Bumper Upper) in Bumpers.
7. Remove the washer solvent container if replacing the right front fender. Refer to Washer Solvent Container Replacement.




8. Remove the front fender bolt (2) from inside the front wheel well.
9. Remove the front fender bolt (1) from inside the front door hinge pillar.




10. Remove the rocker molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rocker Panel () in Exterior Trim.
11. Remove the bolts from the fender at the rocker panel.




12. Remove the bolt from the fender at the front compartment side rail.




13. Remove the bolt from the fender at the lower engine compartment side rail.
14. Remove the front fender from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the fender to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the fender to front compartment side rail bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 6 N.m (53 lb in).





3. Install the fender to rocker panel bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

4. Install the rocker molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rocker Panel () in Exterior Trim.




5. Install the front fender bolt (2) inside the front wheel well.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

6. Install the front fender bolt (1) from inside the front door hinge pillar.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





7. Install the fender to front compartment side rail bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (70 lb in).

8. Install the washer solvent container if replacing the right front fender. Refer to Washer Solvent Container Replacement.
9. Install the front bumper fascia upper support. Refer to Fascia Support Replacement - Front Bumper Upper (Fascia Support Replacement - Front Bumper Upper) in Bumpers.
10. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper (Fascia Replacement - Front Bumper) in Bumpers.
11. Install the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement (Service and Repair) .
12. Install the hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement (Service and Repair) .
13. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair) .
14. Remove the protective tape.
