Seat Back Replacement - Front
SEAT BACK REPLACEMENT - FRONTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disable the SIR system, if equipped with side air impact bag (SIAB).
CAUTION: When performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, the SIR system must be disabled. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones. Failure to observe the correct procedure could cause deployment of the SIR components, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.
2. Remove the front bucket seat.
3. With a flat-bladed tool remove the lumbar knob from the actuator, if equipped.
4. Remove the lumbar actuator from the cushion frame, if equipped.
5. Unfasten the lumbar cable from the cushion frame, if equipped.
6. Unfasten the wire harness from the cushion frame for the SIAB, if equipped.
7. Remove the outer trim panel from the seat cushion.
8. Remove the front bucket seat recliner bolts (6).
9. Remove the front bucket seat back pivot bolt (3).
10. Remove the front bucket seat back (1) from the front seat cushion (5).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the front seat back (1) to the front seat cushion (5).
2. Install the front bucket seat back pivot bolt (3).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten
Tighten the pivot bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
3. Install the front bucket seat recliner bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
4. Install the outer trim panel on the seat cushion.
5. Fasten the wire harness to the cushion frame for the SIAB, if equipped.
6. Fasten the lumbar cable to the cushion frame, if equipped.
7. Install the lumbar actuator to the cushion frame, if equipped.
8. Align the lumbar knob to the splines on the actuator, if equipped.
Press the knob onto the actuator until fully engaged.
9. Install the front seat.
10. Enable the SIR system, if equipped with SIAB.
