Ignition Switch

IGNITION SWITCH REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.


2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3.
3. Remove the steering column trim covers.
4. Remove the ignition lock cylinder.







5. Remove the retaining screws (2) from the ignition switch assembly (3).
6. Remove the ignition switch assembly (3) from the steering column (1).



INSTALLATION PROCEDURE


Ignition Switch Assembly (3) Retaining Screws (2) Steering Column (1):






1. Install the ignition switch assembly (3) to the steering column (1).
2. Install the retaining screws (2) to the ignition switch assembly (3).
Tighten the screws to 4 N.m (36 lb in).


NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the ignition lock cylinder.
4. Install the steering column trim covers.
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
