Evaporator Hose Assembly Replacement

EVAPORATOR HOSE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: When installing a new hose assembly add 30 ml (1.0 fl oz) of refrigerant oil to the system.




1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.

IMPORTANT: Cap the open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the refrigeration system.

2. Remove the bolt (10) and the outlet tube from the receiver (9).
3. Remove the bolt (1) from the hose bracket.
4. Remove the evaporator liquid hose (4) from the evaporator tube.
5. Remove the evaporator liquid hose from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install new O-rings lubricated with 525 viscosity mineral oil.
2. Position the evaporator liquid hose into the vehicle.
3. Install the evaporator liquid hose (4) to the evaporator liquid tube.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the evaporator hose bracket to the vehicle. Secure with the bolt (1).

Tighten
Tighten the evaporator hose bracket bolt (1) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

5. Install the evaporator liquid tube to the receiver (9). Secure with the bolt (10)

Tighten
Tighten the bolt (10) to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).

6. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
7. Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.
