Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front
SEAT BELT RETRACTOR REPLACEMENT - LEFT FRONTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disable the drivers seat SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the front seat belt lower anchor bolt trim cover (4).
3. Remove the front seat belt lower anchor bolt (5).
4. Remove the front side door sill trim plate.
5. Remove the rear side door sill trim plate.
6. Remove the center pillar lower trim panel.
7. Remove the front seat shoulder belt guide adjuster trim cover (3) and the bolt (2).
8. Remove the front seat shoulder belt guide adjuster (1).
9. Disconnect the pretensioner electrical connector (1).
10. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
- The upper bolt (3)
- The lower bolt (6)
- The front seat belt retractor (7)
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the front seat belt retractor (7) to the vehicle. Secure the retractor with the upper bolt (3) and the lower bolt (6).
Tighten
- Tighten the front seat belt retractor upper mounting bolt to 4.9 N.m (43 lb in).
- Tighten the front seat belt retractor lower mounting bolt to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).
2. Connect the pretensioner electrical connector (1).
3. Install the front seat shoulder belt guide adjuster (1) bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the adjuster bolt to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).
4. Install the front seat shoulder belt guide trim cover (3).
5. Install the center pillar lower trim panel.
6. Install the front side door sill trim plate.
7. Install the rear side door sill trim plate.
8. Install the front seat belt lower anchor bolt (5) to the front lower anchor.
Tighten
Tighten the anchor bolt to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).
9. Install the front seat belt lower anchor bolt trim cover (4).
10. Enable the driver seat SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 in Restraint Systems.
