Drum Brake Adjusting Hardware Inspection
1. Visually inspect the adjuster spring (23) for the following:
^ Excessive corrosion
^ Excessive stretching
^ Broken hook ends
^ Twisting or binding
^ Missing
2. Visually inspect the adjuster actuator lever (24) for the following conditions:
^ Bent
^ Broken
^ Missing
^ Broken spring attachment tab
3. Visually inspect the adjuster (7,9,10) for the following conditions:
^ Excessive corrosion
^ Broken
^ Binding
^ Missing
4. Replace the drum brake adjusting hardware if necessary. Refer to Drum Brake Adjusting Hardware Replacement. Drum Brake Adjusting Hardware Replacement
