Check Engine Light On, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0456 Set (Diagnose and Replace EVAP Canister)

Models:
2005 Pontiac Vibe

with Front Wheel Drive (FWD / L or N as 5th Digit of VIN)

Condition

Some customers may comment on the Check Engine light being illuminated. Upon investigation, the technician may find DTC P0456 set.

Cause

This condition may be caused by a EVAP canister seam that leaks.

Correction





If P0456 is the only DTC present, test the EVAP canister for leaks. Replace the EVAP canister if any of the inspections or tests are fail.
