Handle Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Compartment

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the instrument panel (IP) storage compartment door.
2. Remove the fasteners securing the door insulator panel to the door.
3. Remove the storage compartment door insulator panel.




4. Remove the handle retainer (2).
5. Disconnect the latch rod.
The handle will need to be rotated slightly.
6. Remove the door handle.

Installation Procedure




1. Insert the door handle (1) into the IP storage compartment door.
2. Connect the latch rod to the door handle.
3. Install the IP storage compartment door handle retainer clip (2).




4. Install the door insulator panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the insulator panel fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

6. Install the IP storage compartment door.
