Lumbar Replacement - Front Seat (Power)

Removal Procedure

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9 in Restraint Systems.
2. Position the seat back to the full upright position.
3. Position the seat cushion out of the way. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Front.
4. Remove the seat back cover and pad in order to gain access to the lumbar assembly.

Notice: Refer to Electrical Wiring Routing Notice in Service Precautions.




5. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the lumbar.
6. Note the routing of the wiring for reinstallation.
7. Release the 2 retainers at the bottom of the lumbar assembly.
8. Pull downward on the lumbar assembly in order to release the lumbar from the seat back frame.
9. Remove the lumbar assembly from the seat.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the power lumbar assembly to the seat back frame.
2. Secure the power lumbar assembly by snapping the retainers onto the bar at the bottom of the seat back frame.
3. Connect the power lumbar electrical connectors.
4. Install the seat back cover. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front.
5. Install the seat cushion.
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9 in Restraint Systems.
