Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to vehicle lifting.




2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2).
3. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2) from the suction hose (4).
4. Remove and discard the O-ring (3).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the O-ring (3) to the suction hose (4). Refer to O-Ring Replacement.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2) to the suction hose (4).

Tighten
Tighten the sensor to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

3. Install the electrical connector to the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor (2).
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A.
