Condition

Excess manufacturing residue coating on ebony colored seats (RPO 19B) may transfer to the clothing of occupants.

Correction

Clean the center sections on the front and back seat cushions and seat backs.

Important:
This procedure only applies to vehicles with ebony (RPO Code 19B) cloth seating surfaces.

1. Fill a clean bucket or pail with clean warm water.

Important:
A white terry cloth towel is required.

2. Thoroughly soak a clean WHITE terry cloth towel in the warm water.

3. Remove and wring (squeeze) out excess water from the towel. Towel should be damp but no dripping.

Important:
DO NOT soak the seat material in the next steps. Replace the towel after every 4-5 seat panel sections.

4. Starting at the rear of the driver's seat CUSHION, vigorously wipe the CENTER section of the seat cushion in a rear to front motion or direction.

5. Rinse out the cloth in the warm water and wring out again.

6. Using a different section of the towel, repeat the procedure again on the same seat section.

7. Replace the water when the inside bottom of the bucket is no longer visible.

8. Repeat this procedure on the CENTER section of the driver's SEAT BACK, vigorously wiping the material in a bottom to top motion or direction.

9. Repeat the procedure on all remaining seats (front and rear) in the vehicle.

10. Using a clean DRY terry cloth towel, wipe the center section of each seat to see if the material is clean.

^ If the towel remains clean (white) after wiping a seat section surface, the residue on that section has been removed.

^ If the towel exhibits a darkish gray color the residue has NOT been completely removed and the cleaning procedure must be repeated.

12. Allow the seats to dry thoroughly.
