Hood Latch Replacement - Secondary

Removal Procedure





1. Open the hood (3).
2. Cut the end of the secondary latch rivet (5).
3. Remove the rivet (3) from the secondary latch (4).
4. Remove the secondary latch (4) and spring (1) from the hood (2).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the secondary latch (4) and spring (1) to the hood (2).
2. Install new rivet (3) to the secondary latch (4) and spring (1).

Important: Lubricate the rivet prior to assembly with lubricant aerosol GM P/N 12346293, or equivalent.



3. Crimp the rivet (3) end to secure in place.
4. Test the secondary latch (4) operation.
5. Close the hood.
