Hood Replacement (With Hood Scoops)

Removal Procedure





1. Open the hood.

Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

2. Apply tape to the corners of the hood and the adjacent surfaces.
3. Remove the hood secondary latch. Refer to Hood Latch Replacement - Secondary (Hood Latch Replacement - Secondary) .
4. Remove the hood latch striker. Refer to Hood Latch Striker Replacement (Hood Latch Striker Replacement) .
5. Remove the hood scoops. Refer to Scoop Replacement - Hood Air () .
6. Remove the washer pump solvent hose. Refer to Hose Replacement - Windshield Washer in Wipers/Washer Systems.
7. Remove the washer nozzles. Refer to Washer Nozzle Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
8. Remove the hood bumpers. Refer to Hood Bumper Replacement - Side (Service and Repair) .
9. Mark the upper hood hinge location to the hood with a grease pencil.
10. Remove the assist rods from the hood. Refer to Assist Rod Replacement - Hood (Service and Repair) .
11. Remove the bolts from the upper hood hinge, with an assistant.
12. Remove the hood from the vehicle with an assistant.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the hood to the vehicle with an assistant.
2. Align the hood hinges to the alignment marks on the hood.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the bolts to the upper hood hinge, with an assistant.

Tighten the upper hood hinge bolts to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

4. Install the assist rods to the hood. Refer to Assist Rod Replacement - Hood (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the hood bumpers. Refer to Hood Bumper Replacement - Side (Service and Repair) .
6. Install the washer nozzles. Refer to Washer Nozzle Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
7. Install the washer hose. Refer to Hose Replacement - Windshield Washer in Wipers/Washer Systems.
8. Install the hood scoops. Refer to Scoop Replacement - Hood Air () .
9. Install the hood latch striker. Refer to Hood Latch Striker Replacement (Hood Latch Striker Replacement) .
10. Install the hood secondary latch. Refer to Hood Latch Replacement - Secondary (Hood Latch Replacement - Secondary) .
11. Remove the tape from the corners of the hood and the adjacent surfaces, if applied.
12. Adjust the hood. Refer to Hood Adjustment (Adjustments) .
13. Close the hood.
