Cooling Fan Replacement - Electric
Removal Procedure
1. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air intake duct.
3. Drain the cooling system.
4. Remove the radiator bypass hose and the coolant reservoir hose from the radiator fan shroud clips.
5. Remove the radiator bypass hose to radiator clamp (1) and position the hose aside.
6. Remove the coolant reservoir hose (2) to coolant reservoir at the radiator and position aside. Remove the radiator outlet hose.
7. Disconnect the left side cooling fan motor electrical connector (2).
8. Disconnect the right side cooling fan motor electrical connector (3).
9. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the water pump housing and position aside.
10. Important: To avoid damage to the fan motor shaft, do not lift the fan and shroud assembly by the fan rings.
Push down on the fan shroud locking tab (1), then lift the fan and should assembly upwards to remove.
Installation Procedure
1. Important: To avoid damage to the fan motor shaft, do not lift the fan and shroud assembly by the fan rings.
Install the fan and shroud assembly.
2. Connect the right side cooling fan motor electrical connector (3).
3. Connect the left side cooling fan motor electrical connector (2).
4. Connect the radiator inlet hose to the water pump housing.
5. Install the radiator outlet hose.
6. Install the coolant reservoir hose (2) to coolant reservoir at the radiator.
7. Install the radiator bypass hose to radiator clamp (1).
8. Install the radiator bypass hose and the coolant reservoir hose to the radiator fan shroud clips.
9. Refill the cooling system.
10. Install the air intake duct.

Connect the negative battery cable.
