Mainshaft Rear Oil Seal Replacement

Tools Required
^ J23907 Slide Hammer with Bearing Adapter
^ J26941 Bushing and Bearing Remover - 3-4 in
^ J39440 Extension Housing Seal Installer

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the propeller shaft.
2. Remove the main shaft seal using J23907 and J26941.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the main shaft seal using J39440.
2. Lubricate the inside diameter of the seal. Use only DEXRON(r) III automatic transmission fluid.
3. Install the propeller shaft.
4. Inspect the transmission fluid level.
5. Add transmission fluid, if necessary.
