68. Engine Front Cover Installation

Engine Front Cover Installation





1. Install the engine front cover gasket.
2. Apply sealer GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or the equivalent to both sides of the lower tabs of the engine front cover gasket. Apply the sealer no less than 5.0 mm (0.20 inch) wide.





3. Install the engine front cover.

4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the engine front cover bolts (3).
Tighten the bolts (3) to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the engine front cover bolt (1).
Tighten the bolt (1) to 55 Nm (41 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the engine front cover bolts (2).
Tighten the bolts (2) to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).





7. Install the crankshaft position sensor wiring bracket.
8. Install the crankshaft position sensor wiring bracket bolt.
Tighten the crankshaft position sensor wiring bracket bolt to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
