Fender Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure


Notice: Refer to Tape Corners of Panel Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Apply tape to panel and adjacent surfaces.
2. Remove the hood. Refer toHood Replacement .
3. Remove the hood hinge. Refer toHood Hinge Replacement .
4. Remove the front fender liner. Refer toFront Fender Liner Replacement .
5. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer toFascia Replacement - Front Bumper in Bumpers.
6. Remove the front bumper fascia upper support. Refer toFascia Support Replacement - Front Bumper Upper in Bumpers.
7. Remove the washer solvent container if replacing the right front fender. Refer toWasher Solvent Container Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.




8. Remove the front fender bolt (2) from inside the front wheel well.
9. Remove the front fender bolt (1) from inside the front door hinge pillar.




10. Remove the rocker molding. Refer toMolding Replacement - Rocker Panel in Exterior Trim.
11. Remove the bolts from the fender at the rocker panel.




12. Remove the bolt from the fender at the front compartment side rail.




13. Remove the bolt from the fender at the lower engine compartment side rail.
14. Remove the front fender from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the fender to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer toFastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the fender to front compartment side rail bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 6 Nm (53 lb in).





3. Install the fender to rocker panel bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb in).

4. Install the rocker molding. Refer toMolding Replacement - Rocker Panel in Exterior Trim.




5. Install the front fender bolt (2) inside the front wheel well.

Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

6. Install the front fender bolt (1) from inside the front door hinge pillar.

Tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in).





7. Install the fender to front compartment side rail bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 8 Nm (70 lb in).

8. Install the washer solvent container if replacing the right front fender. Refer toWasher Solvent Container Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
9. Install the front bumper fascia upper support. Refer toFascia Support Replacement - Front Bumper Upper in Bumpers.
10. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer toFascia Replacement - Front Bumper in Bumpers.
11. Install the front fender liner. Refer toFront Fender Liner Replacement .
12. Install the hood hinge. Refer toHood Hinge Replacement .
13. Install the hood. Refer toHood Replacement .
14. Remove the protective tape.
