Lock Cylinder Replacement - Door

Removal Procedure






Important: Do not attempt repairs in order to correct lock cylinder discrepancies. Replace the lock cylinder.


1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer toWater Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
3. Remove the front door outside handle. Refer toDoor Handle Replacement - Front Outside .
4. Remove the lock paw retaining clip (7).
5. Remove the locking rod (6).
6. Remove the lock cylinder paw (5).
7. Remove the lock cylinder retaining clip (3).
8. Remove the lock cylinder (4) from the outside door handle.
Pull rearward on the lock cylinder to remove it from the handle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the lock cylinder (4) into the outside door handle.
2. Install the lock cylinder retaining clip (3).
3. Install the lock cylinder paw (5).
4. Install the lock cylinder paw retaining clip (7).
5. Inspect the lock cylinder with the key for proper operation.
6. Install the locking rod (6).
7. Install the front door outside handle. Refer toDoor Handle Replacement - Front Outside .
8. Inspect the door for proper operation.
9. Install the front door water deflector. Refer toWater Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
10. Install the front door trim panel. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
