Drive Belt Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.






2. Remove the bolt, then reposition the wiring harness clamp bracket.






3. Remove the 2 nuts, then reposition the A/C hose aside.






4. Use a wrench and rotate the belt tensioner clockwise.
5. With pressure applied to the wrench, and tension relieved from the drive belt, remove the accessory drive belt.

Installation Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle.
2. Remove the right side lower engine splash shield.
3. Properly route and install the accessory drive belt onto the drive pulleys.






4. Use a wrench and rotate the belt tensioner clockwise.
5. With pressure applied to the wrench, install the accessory drive belt.
6. With the accessory drive belt installed properly, release the belt tensioner.

Notice: Refer to the Fastener Notice.

7. Install the right side lower engine splash shield.






8. Position the A/C hose and install the 2 retaining nuts. Tighten the A/C hose nuts to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).






9. Position the wiring harness clamp bracket and install the bolt. Tighten the wire harness clamp bracket bolt to 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).
10. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten the battery cable bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
