REMOTE VEHICLE START INOPERATIVE

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
The remote vehicle start (RVS) will not operate under the following conditions:
- The hazard switch in the ON position.
- The vehicle hood is open.
- A hood ajar switch DTC is set.
- An automatic transmission (A/T) shift lock control system DTC is set.
- The ignition key is in the ignition.
- A vehicle speed signal is detected by the powertrain control module (PCM).
- A vehicle DTC that illuminates the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL).

TEST DESCRIPTION

Step 1 - Step 10:

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
1. The Vehicle Diagnostic System Check must be performed or misdiagnosis will occur.
4. The remote start enable procedure is contained in the Keyless Entry Description and Operation.
