Condition

Some customers may comment that the wind deflector for the sunroof interferes with operation of the sunroof window.

Cause

This condition may be due to the sunroof glass contacting the wind deflector when opening and closing.

Correction

Install newly designed wear plates and actuator blocks. The new wear plate has a bump-out feature added to prevent the mesh deflector from contacting the sunroof glass. Follow the procedure below.

Slide the sunshade to the full rearward position.

Cycle the sunroof window to the vent position.

From the inside of the vehicle remove the sunroof window screws on both sides.

Lift the sunroof window from the opening.

Put the sunroof track to the full rear position.

Remove and replace the actuator blocks with the newly designed actuators.

Remove and replace the wear plate.

Install the sunroof window.

Install the screw on both track sides but do not tighten them.

Carefully close the sunroof window from the full open position to the full close position.

Adjust the sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Window Height and Opening Fit Adjustment in SI.

Close the sunshade.

Cycle the sunroof window to ensure proper operation and fit.
