Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the fuel tank.
2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister to EVAP canister vent solenoid valve line quick connect fitting.
3. Disconnect the fuel tank EVAP vapor line to EVAP canister quick connect fitting.
4. From under the fuel tank, remove the TORX(R) bolt attaching the EVAP canister to bracket.
5. Slide the EVAP canister upward from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Slide the NEW EVAP canister down into the bracket.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. From under the fuel tank, install the TORX(R) bolt attaching the EVAP canister to bracket.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the fuel tank EVAP vapor line to EVAP canister quick connect fitting.
4. Connect the EVAP canister to EVAP canister vent solenoid valve line quick connect fitting.
5. Install the fuel tank.
