Exhaust Manifold Installation - Right





1. Install the exhaust manifold gasket.
2. Install the exhaust manifold.

3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the exhaust manifold bolts.
Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts in sequence to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
5. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
6. Install the spark plugs.
^ Tighten the spark plugs to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) when installing spark plugs into a new cylinder head.
^ Tighten the spark plugs to 15 Nm (13 ft. lbs.) when installing spark plugs after initial installation.

7. Install the spark plug wires.
8. Install the heated oxygen sensor.
Tighten the heated oxygen sensor to 42 Nm (31 ft. lbs.).
