Throttle Body Assembly Replacement
THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
NOTE: Do not use solvent of any type when cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as damage to the gasket surfaces and throttle body assembly may result.
Use care in cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as sharp tools may damage the gasket surfaces.
1. Remove the intake manifold cover.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct.
3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System. Service and Repair
4. Disconnect the electronic throttle control (ETC) electrical connector (2).
5. Remove the heater inlet and outlet pipe nuts (1).
6. Reposition the heater inlet and outlet hose clamps (2, 3) at the heater pipes.
7. Remove the heater inlet and outlet hoses from the heater pipes.
8. Remove the heater inlet and outlet pipe bracket from the throttle body studs.
9. Remove the throttle body bolts/studs.
10. Remove the throttle body.
11. Remove the throttle body gasket.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install a new gasket, if necessary.
2. Install the throttle body.
3. Install the throttle body bolts/studs.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.
Tighten the bolts/studs to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
4. Install the heater inlet and outlet pipe bracket to the throttle body studs.
5. Install the heater inlet and outlet hoses to the heater pipes.
6. Position the heater inlet and outlet hose clamps (2, 3) at the heater pipes.
7. Install the heater inlet and outlet pipe nuts (1).
Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
8. Connect the ETC electrical connector (2).
9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System. Service and Repair
10. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
11. Install the intake manifold cover.
