Hood Latch Replacement - Primary

Removal Procedure





1. Open and raise the hood.
2. Remove the upper radiator shroud. Refer toFan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
3. Disengage the primary hood latch (1) from the radiator support panel (2).
4. Disengage the hood latch release cable (5) from the primary hood latch (1).
5. Rotate the primary hood latch (1) in the vertical position, and remove from radiator support lower primary hood latch hole (6) and radiator support upper primary hood latch hole (7).



Installation Procedure





1. Position the primary latch (1) in the vertical position and insert through the radiator support upper primary hood latch hole (7) and the radiator support lower primary hood latch hole (6).
2. Install the hood release cable (5) to the primary hood latch (1).
3. Install the primary hood latch (1) to the radiator support panel (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Loosen the hood latch cable retainer screw (3) and adjust the hood latch release cable (5), if necessary.

Tighten the hood latch cable retainer screw to 2 N.m (17 lb in).

5. Install the upper radiator shroud. Refer toFan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
6. Close the hood.
