Applique Replacement - Center Pillar Outer

Removal Procedure

1. Open the door.




2. Gently pull the top of the center pillar upper molding (1) out to disengage it from the center pillar upper molding retainer (2).
3. While holding the top of the molding out (1), slide it up the center pillar outer sealing strip (3).
4. Manoeuvre the rear edge and then the front edge of the molding (1) from the sealing strip (3) and remove.
5. Remove the 4 screws (5), from the center pillar sealing strip (3) and remove center pillar sealing strip (3).
6. Remove the center pillar outer applique (4) by pulling away from the center pillar.




7. Remove the screw (1), from the center pillar upper molding retainer (2), if necessary.
8. Remove the center pillar upper molding retainer (2) from under the window, if necessary.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the center pillar upper molding retainer (2) to the vehicle, if removed.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the screw (1), to the center pillar upper molding retainer (2), if removed.

Tighten the screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).





3. Position the center pillar outer applique (4) to the vehicle.
4. Position the center pillar sealing strip (3) to the center pillar outer applique (4) and install the 4 screws (5).

Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).

5. Engage the front edge of the center pillar molding (1) into the center pillar molding sealing strip (3) and then the rear edge into the window assembly.
6. Slide the center pillar molding (1) down and press it in at the top to engage it into the retaining clip (2).
7. Close the door.
