Muffler Replacement (Rear)

Removal Procedure





1. Caution: Refer to Exhaust Service Caution in Service Precautions.

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the front muffler to rear muffler flange nuts (1).
4. Separate the front muffler from the rear muffler assemblies.
5. Remove the rear muffler assembly from the support hangers (2).
6. Remove the rear muffler assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Position the rear muffler assembly to the vehicle.
2. Install the rear muffler assembly to the support hangers (2).

3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the front muffler to rear muffler flange nuts (1).
Tighten the front muffler to rear muffler flange bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
4. Lower the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Exhaust Service Caution in Service Precautions.

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

Connect the negative battery cable.
