Bracket Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center Support
BRACKET REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CENTER SUPPORT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the instrument panel pad.
2. Remove the screw (7) attaching the center support brace assembly (5) to the lower radio bracket (6).
3. Remove the bolt (8) attaching the center support brace assembly (5) to the lower radio bracket (6).
4. Remove the 4 bolts (10) attaching the drivers knee bolster bracket (9) to the drivers inner bracket (3) and outer bracket (1).
5. Remove the drivers knee bolster bracket (9) from the drivers inner bracket (3) and outer bracket (1).
6. Remove the 2 bolts (2) attaching the drivers inner bracket (3) to the vehicle.
7. Remove the drivers inner bracket (3) from the vehicle.
8. Remove the bolt (4) attaching the center support brace (5) to the drivers inner bracket (3).
9. Remove the center support brace (5) from the drivers inner bracket (3).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the center support brace (5) to the drivers inner bracket (3).
2. Install the bolt (4) attaching the center support brace (5) to the drivers inner bracket (3).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Install the drivers inner bracket (3) to the vehicle.
4. Install the 2 bolts (2) attaching the drivers inner bracket (3) to the vehicle.
Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
5. Install the drivers knee bolster bracket (9) to the drivers inner bracket (3) and the outer bracket (1).
6. Install the 4 bolts (10) attaching the drivers knee bolster bracket (9) to the drivers inner bracket (3) and the outer bracket (1).
Tighten the 4 bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
7. Install the bolt (8) attaching the center support brace assembly (5) to the lower radio bracket (6).
Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
8. Install the screw (7) attaching the center support brace assembly (5) to the lower radio bracket (6).
Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
9. Install the instrument panel pad.
