Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Center



TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CENTER

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the console trim plate.
2. Remove the radio.
3. Pull upward on the center upper trim panel (3) to disengage the retaining clips at each corner from the center trim panel (1).
4. Remove the two lower screws (6) attaching the center trim panel (1) to the instrument panel assembly.
5. Remove the two upper screws (4) attaching the center trim panel (1) to the instrument panel assembly.
6. Remove the two center screws (2) attaching the center trim panel (1) to the instrument panel assembly.
7. Remove the center trim panel (1), by disengaging the four clips (5) far enough to disconnect the wiring connectors from the rear of the hazard warning switch.
8. Remove the center trim panel (1) from the instrument panel assembly.
9. Remove the center air outlet.
10. Remove the hazard warning switch.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the hazard warning switch.
2. Install the center air outlet.
3. Position the center trim panel (1) to the instrument panel, and connect the hazard warning switch connector.
4. Install the center trim panel (1) to the instrument panel, making sure the four clips (5) are engaged.
5. Install the two center screws (2) securing the center trim panel (1) to the instrument panel.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the two screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

6. Install the two upper screws (4) securing the center trim panel (1) to the instrument panel.

Tighten the two screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

7. Install the two lower screws (6) securing the center trim panel (1) to the instrument panel.

Tighten the two screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

8. Install the center upper trim panel (3) to the center trim panel (1), making sure the retaining clips are engaged.
9. Install the radio.
10. Install the console trim plate.
