Brake Light Switch: Adjustments



STOP LAMP SWITCH ADJUSTMENT




1. With the brake pedal (1) in the fully released position, ensure that the stop lamp plunger is fully depressed against the brake pedal shanks.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (4) from the switch assembly (3).
3. The gap (a) between the switch assembly and the support bracket (2) is between 5-6 mm (0.20-0.23 in).
4. To adjust the gap, rotate the switch assembly clockwise or counterclockwise to decrease or increase the gap distance accordingly.
5. Connect the electrical connector (4) to the switch assembly (3).
6. Inspect the stop lamp switch for proper adjustment.
