Front Camber Adjustment
Tools Required
^ J45059 Angle Meter
1. Raise and support the vehicle on the alignment rack. Refer to Vehicle Lifting .
2. If necessary, remove the front tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove and discard the 2 nuts (5,6).
4. If equipped, remove the 2 washers (4,7) from the bolts.
5. Remove and discard the 2 bolts (2,3) that retain the strut to the knuckle.
6. Important: Do not fully tighten the nuts or the bolts yet.
Install the 2 NEW bolts in order to retain the strut to the knuckle.
7. Install the 2 washers to the bolts.
8. Install the 2 NEW nuts to the bolts.
9. If you removed the front tire and wheel assembly, install the front tire and wheel assembly.
10. Lower the vehicle onto the alignment rack in order to place the weight of the vehicle onto the tires.
11. Push down on the front bumper 3 times in order to stabilize the suspension.
12. Measure the alignment.
13. Important: The camber adjustment screw (1) has thread sealant in the form of micro-encapsulation.
Rotate the camber adjustment screw in order to adjust the front camber to the specification.
14. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten 2 nuts (2) that retain the strut to the knuckle.
1. Tighten the nuts to 85 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
2. Tighten the nuts to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).
3. Use the J45059 in order to tighten the nuts an additional 90 degrees.
15. Lower the vehicle.
