Window Regulator Replacement - Front Door

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the inside door handle assembly, if necessary. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Inside (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
3. Raise the window far enough in order to gain access through the inner door panel to the window guide channel to window bolts.




4. Remove the 3 door brackets (1) from the inner door panel (3) by levering out the center pin of the bracket.
5. Carefully, peel back the door water deflector (2) enough to gain access to the regulator.




6. Lower the window assembly to a position where the regulator guide runners (1) and the window guide rails (3) are visible through the aperture in the door inner panel (2).




7. Remove the 2 attaching screws (3) securing the window regulator channel assembly (2) to the door inner panel.
8. Slide the channel (2) out of the regulator assembly (1).




9. Disconnect the regulator assembly wiring harness connector (2) from the door harness.
10. With the help of an assistant holding the glass, drill out the 4 rivets (4) securing the regulator assembly (1) to the door panel.
11. Slide the runners out of the window assembly (3).
12. Raise the window glass by hand.

Important: Make sure the window assembly is supported up while replacing the regulator assembly.


13. Remove the window regulator assembly through the door inner panel aperture.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the window regulator assembly (1) through the door inner panel aperture.
2. Insert the regulator arms into the glass channels and align the attaching holes in the regulator with the corresponding holes in the door inner panel.
3. Attach the regulator assembly (1) to the door inner panel using 4 new rivets (4).
4. Connect the regulator assembly wiring harness connector (2) to the door harness.




5. Install the channel assembly (2) to the door assembly upper opening.
6. Slide the channel assembly (2) on to the regulator assembly (1).
7. Install the 2 attaching screws (3) securing the window regulator channel assembly (2) to the door inner panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

8. Adjust the window, if necessary. Refer to Window Adjustment - Front Door (Window Adjustment - Front Door) .

Tighten the 2 screws (3) to 7 N.m (62 lb in).





9. Reposition and secure the door water deflector (2) to the door inner panel (3).
10. Install the 3 door brackets (1) to the door inner panel (3).
11. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Door (Service and Repair) .
12. Install the inside door handle assembly, if removed. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Inside (Service and Repair) .
