Energy Absorber Pad Replacement - Inner Rear

Removal Procedure





1. Open the door.
2. Remove the rear door trim pad. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
4. Grasp the energy absorber pad (1) with both hands and pull rearward to release it from the door. If necessary, warm the inner door panel to soften the adhesive.
5. Remove the inner energy absorber pad (1) from the door.



Installation Procedure





1. Clean the rear inner door panel using an oil-free naphtha or alcohol before reinstalling the energy absorber pad.
2. Remove the double backed protective tape (2) backing from the door inner energy absorber pad.
3. Install the inner energy absorber pad (1) to the door.
4. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the rear door trim pad. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door (Service and Repair) .
6. Close the door.
