Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster



TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Use a plastic trim tool to remove the ignition switch bezel.




2. Pull the instrument panel (I/P) accessory trim plate rearward slightly for access to the steering column filler. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory.
3. Remove the steering column filler.
4. Tilt the steering wheel to the lowest position.
5. Grasp the edge of the I/P cluster trim plate. Pull rearward to disengage the retainers.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp dimmer switch.




7. Remove the headlamp dimmer switch screws.
8. Remove the headlamp dimmer switch.
9. Remove the I/P cluster trim plate.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Align the headlamp dimmer switch to the I/P cluster trim plate.
2. Install the headlamp dimmer switch screws.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




3. Connect the electrical connector to the headlamp dimmer switch.
4. Align the locating pins and the retainers on the I/P cluster trim plate with the openings in the I/P.
5. Push in the I/P cluster trim plate at each of the retainer locations. Verify that the retainers are completely engaged.
6. Return the steering wheel to the original position.
7. Install the steering column filler.
8. Install the I/P accessory trim plate.




9. Install the ignition switch bezel.
