CONSOLE REPLACEMENT - OVERHEAD

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Insert a flat-bladed tool at the left end of the lamp lens. Press in and down to free the lamp lens clip.
2. Pull down to remove the left lens.
3. Use the same procedure to remove the right lens.




4. Remove the overhead console screws.




5. Grip the console at the rear and pull down to release the retainers (2).




6. Slide the off/on switches (1) into the open slot and remove them.




7. Insert a flat-bladed tool at the base of each lamp and press in to remove them.




8. If equipped, remove the electrical connector from the sun roof switch (1).
9. Remove the overhead console housing from the vehicle.
10. For the removal of the console backplate remove the headliner as necessary. Refer to Headliner Replacement.
11. Remove the wire harness from the clips in the backplate.
12. Remove the backplate from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the backplate on the headliner of the vehicle.
2. Install the wire harness into the clips on the backplate.
3. Install the headliner.
4. Position the overhead console housing by the headliner.




5. If equipped, install the electrical connector to the sun roof switch (1).




6. Install the lamps.




7. Install the off/on switches (1).




8. Press the console up to engage to rear retainers (2).




9. Install the overhead console screws.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the overhead console screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

10. Press the right lens into the retaining rod and press up to engage the outer clip.Use the same procedure to install the left lamp lens.
