Window Regulator Replacement - Front Door
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
3. Temporally connect the power window switch to the door wiring harness and raise the window far enough in order to gain access through the inner door panel to the window guide channel to window bolts.
4. Remove the bolts (2) that attach the window guide channel to the window .
5. Raise the window to the full up position and tape in place.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the power window motor by pulling out on the tab (1).
7. Loosen the bolt on the window regulator motor (5).
8. Lift the motor free of the retaining slot.
9. Remove the bolts from the front door window regulator (1, 2, 3, 4).
10. Remove the window regulator and motor through the access opening in the inner door panel.
11. Remove the power window motor from the window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Motor Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
Installation Procedure
1. Pre-start the bolts to the window regulator and motor.
2. Install the power window motor to the window regulator. Refer to Window Regulator Motor Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
3. Position the window regulator and motor into the slots of the inner door panel.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
Important: In order to ensure proper orientation of the window regulator to the door, tighten the window regulator bolts in the specified sequence (1, 2, 3 ,4, 5).
4. Install the window regulator bolts in the specified sequence (1, 2, 3, 4) and motor (5) mounting bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
5. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the power window motor by pushing in on the tab (1).
6. Remove the masking tape.
7. Temporally connect the power window switch to the door wiring harness and lower the window far enough in order to gain access through the inner panel to the window guide run channel to regulator bolts.
8. Install the bolts (2) that attach the window guide channel to the regulator.
Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
9. Inspect the window for proper operation.
10. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
11. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Service and Repair) .
