Fuel Return Line: Service and Repair



FUEL HOSE/PIPES REPLACEMENT - CHASSIS

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.

2. Disconnect the fuel feed pipe (2) from the fuel rail.
3. Cap or plug the fuel feed pipe and the fuel rail to in order to system prevent contamination.




4. Remove the fuel feed and evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe clip from the oil level indicator tube bracket.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





6. Open the pipe retaining clips along the floor panel.




7. Disconnect the fuel feed pipe (2) quick connect fitting from the fuel tank feed pipe.




8. Open the retaining clips at the left rear floor panel tunnel brace.
9. Remove the fuel feed pipe from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position and install the fuel feed pipe to the vehicle.
2. Install the fuel feed pipe to the retaining clips at the left rear floor panel tunnel brace.
3. Close the retaining clips.




4. Connect the fuel feed pipe (2) quick connect fitting at the fuel tank feed pipe.




5. Install the fuel feed pipe to the retaining clips along the floor panel.
6. Close the pipe retaining clips.
7. Lower the vehicle.




8. Install the fuel feed and EVAP pipe clip to the oil level indicator tube bracket.




9. Remove the caps or plugs from the fuel pipe and the fuel rail.
10. Connect the fuel feed pipe (2) to the fuel rail.
11. Connect the negative battery cable.
12. Inspect for fuel leaks using the following procedure:
1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
