Battery Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable (2).
2. Remove the wheelhouse liner.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Open the positive battery cable connection cover.
5. Loosen the positive battery cable bolt.
6. Remove the positive battery cable (1).
7. Remove the front fender rear bracket to side rail bolts.
8. Remove the front fender to front fender rear bracket upper (1) and lower (2) bolts.
9. Remove the front fender rear bracket.
10. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt and retainer.
11. Important: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.
Remove the battery.
Installation Procedure
1. Important: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during battery installation.
Install the battery.
2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
Install the battery hold down retainer and bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the front fender rear bracket.
4. Install the front fender rear bracket to side rail bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the front fender to front fender rear bracket upper (1) and lower (2) bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the positive battery cable (1).
7. Tighten the positive battery cable bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
8. Close the positive battery cable connection cover.
9. Install the wheelhouse liner.
10. Connect the negative battery cable (2).
