Onstar Vehicle Interface Unit (VIU) Replacement

ONSTAR VEHICLE INTERFACE UNIT (VIU) REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the communication interface module.
2. Disconnect the vehicle interface unit module electrical connector (1).
3. Remove the vehicle interface unit module retaining nut (2), then the module.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the vehicle interface unit module.
2. Install interface unit module retaining nut (2).

Tighten the power control module bolts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Connect the vehicle interface unit module electrical connector (1).
4. Install the communication interface module.
