Impact Bar Replacement - Rear Bumper

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper (Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper) .
2. Remove the rear bumper fascia energy absorber. Refer to Energy Absorber Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the following components from the vehicle:

* The 4 nuts (2)
* The rear bumper impact bar (1)
* The 4 push-in retainers (3) and the 2 rear bumper stays (4) from the impact bar (1), if necessary




Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the 2 rear bumper stays (4) and the push-in retainers (3) to the impact bar (1), if removed.
Install the rear bumper impact bar (1) to the vehicle. Secure the impact bar with 4 nuts (2).

Tighten the rear bumper impact bar nuts to 36 N.m (26 lb ft).

2. Install the rear bumper fascia energy absorber. Refer to Energy Absorber Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .
3. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper (Fascia Replacement - Rear Bumper) .
