Front Door: Service and Repair



Door Replacement - Side Front

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the rear view mirror. Refer to Mirror Replacement - Power (Mirror Replacement - Power) .
4. Remove the outer sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer (Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer) .
5. Remove the door weather-strip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the door window weather-strip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door Window (Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door Window) .
7. Remove the window guide. Refer toWindow Guide Replacement - Door (Window Guide Replacement - Door) .
8. Remove the door lock. Refer to Lock Replacement - Front Door (Lock Replacement - Front Door) .
9. Remove the door lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Door (Procedures) .
10. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside (Service and Repair) .
11. Remove the door window. Refer to Window Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
12. Remove the door window regulator and motor. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
13. Remove the front upper door speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Front Upper in Entertainment.
14. Remove the front lower door speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Front Lower in Entertainment.
15. Remove the front door body side molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Front Door Body Side () in Exterior Trim.
16. Remove the front lower door side molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Front Side Door Lower () in Exterior Trim.
17. Remove the left fender, if necessary. Refer to Fender Replacement - Front - Left (Service and Repair) in Body Front End.
18. Remove the right fender, if necessary. Refer to Fender Replacement - Front - Right (Service and Repair) in Body Front End.
19. Remove the door check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement - Front (Service and Repair) .




20. Release the door wiring harness grommet and unroute the wiring harness (3) from the door (6) and door jamb, if equipped.
21. Remove the front door wiring harness from the vehicle, if equipped.
22. Remove all the retainers from the front door (6).
23. Mark the door hinge (2, 4) location.
24. Remove the following components from the vehicle:

* The 4 door to hinge bolts (1, 5)
* The front door (6)




Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the front door (6) to the vehicle. Align the matchmarks on the hinges (2, 4) in order to aid in the correct adjustment of the door. Secure the door to the hinges (2, 4) with the 4 bolts (1, 5).

Tighten the door to hinge bolts to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).

2. Install all the plastic retainers to the door (6).
3. Route the door wiring harness (3) and seat the grommet into position in the door (6).
4. Install the door check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement - Front (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the left fender, if removed. Refer to Fender Replacement - Front - Left (Service and Repair) in Body Front End.
6. Install the right fender, if removed. Refer to Fender Replacement - Front - Right (Service and Repair) in Body Front End.
7. Install the front door body side molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Front Door Body Side () in Exterior Trim.
8. Install the front door side molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Front Side Door Lower () in Exterior Trim.
9. Install the door window regulator and motor. Refer to Window Regulator Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
10. Install the front lower door speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Front Lower in Entertainment.
11. Install the front upper door speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Front Upper in Entertainment.
12. Install the door window. Refer to Window Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
13. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside (Service and Repair) .
14. Install the door lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Door (Procedures) .
15. Install the door lock. Refer to Lock Replacement - Front Door (Lock Replacement - Front Door) .
16. Install the door window weather-strip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door Window (Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door Window) .
17. Install the door weather-strip. Refer to Weatherstrip Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
18. Install the outer sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer (Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Outer) .
19. Install the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Mirror Replacement - Power (Mirror Replacement - Power) .
20. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door (Service and Repair) .
21. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Service and Repair) .
