Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Service and Repair
IDLE AIR CONTROL (IAC) VALVE REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) to the idle air control (IAC) valve (1).
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System. Service and Repair
3. Disconnect the two coolant hoses (2) to the IAC valve.
4. Remove the fasteners retaining the IAC valve (3).
5. Remove the IAC valve (4) from the throttle body (1).
6. Remove any remaining IAC valve gasket (4).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install a new IAC valve gasket (4).
2. Install the IAC valve (3) to the throttle body.
3. Install the fasteners that retain the IAC valve.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.
Tighten the fasteners to 3.7 N.m (33 lb in).
4. Connect the two coolant hoses (2) to the IAC valve.
5. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the IAC valve (1).
6. Refill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System. Service and Repair
