Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the wheel housing.

Important: The wheel speed sensor is serviceable only as an assembly. Do NOT attempt to service the sensor harness pigtail.

2. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).





3. Remove the 2 bolts retaining the wheel speed sensor pigtail harness (1).





4. Remove the wheel speed sensor retaining bolt (1) and remove the wheel speed sensor (2) from the steering knuckle.

Installation Procedure





1. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the wheel speed sensor (2) to the steering knuckle. Secure with 1 bolt.
^ Tighten the front wheel speed sensor bolt to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).





2. Connect the wheel speed wiring harness (1) to the vehicle. Secure with 2 bolts.
^ Tighten the pigtail harness nut (2) to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.) and pigtail harness nut (3) to 29 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).





3. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector (1).
4. Install the wheel housing.
5. Perform Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle.
