Side Impact Sensor Replacement (Rear)

INFLATABLE RESTRAINT SIDE IMPACT SENSOR REPLACEMENT (REAR)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6.
2. Remove the rear door sill plate.
3. Remove the rear seat garnish molding.
4. Remove the side impact sensor (SIS) electrical connector.




5. Remove the SIS fastener (2).
6. Remove the SIS (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the SIS (1).
2. Install the SIS fastener (2).

Tighten the fastener to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the SIS electrical connector.
4. Install the rear seat garnish molding.
5. Install the rear door sill plate.
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6.
